Our Programs
The Icla da Silva Foundation educational programs were tailored to increase awareness of the general public about the need to diversify the Be the Match Marrow Registry meanwhile recruiting and retaining volunteers donors.
The core of our program is to:
The core of our program is to:
- Promote public awareness about the need to become a volunteer marrow or cord blood donor through media, audio-visual materials and presentations;
- Teach communities the 6 Steps of Marrow and Peripheral Blood Stem Cell (PBSC) Donation;
- Provide specialized outreach and retention programs for minority communities;
- Supply excellent language and cultural assistance to Donor Centers in need to contact preliminary matched donors;
- Provide consistent case management and assist marrow / cord blood donors on the donation process;
- Work side by side with donor and patient to facilitate their meeting;

Icla da Silva Patient Support Services provide:
- Financial aid, information and emotional support to patients afflicted with blood related cancers;
- Referrals to patients searching for medical professionals and/or treatment centers, transplantation and/or second opinion;
- Assistance to patients and families looking for a compatible bone marrow/stem cell match;
- Help to patient and family with Activities of daily living (ADLs);
The Icla da Silva Foundation provides information and assists patients and families searching for adequate treatment outside of their countries when treatment is no longer available there.
