Bate Papo Gala

The first Bate Papo Gala Event was held with great success on September 6th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Natick. The event gathered sponsors, friends and community leaders to celebrate the 3 years anniversary of Bate Papo com Shirley TV, produced and hosted by journalist Shirley Nigri Farber.
The nearly 150 guests had the opportunity to make new friends and business contacts while having fun during a pleasant evening and an elegant ambiance.
The live music by the Andrea Davis Brazilian Jazz group (Andrea, Emerson and Frois Jackstoni) brought the public to the dance floor. The theatrical presentation, Metamorphosis, by Robson of Ponto de Partida-USA and the exhibit of Brazilian artists (Monica Nascimento, Wanda Araujo, Selma Paulino and Lucia Borges) gave the cultural and unique touch to the evening.
Senator Anthony Gallucio gave a speech praising the community work of journalist Shirley Farber does through Bate Papo Magazine and TV show. Alvaro Lima, brought a letter from Mayor Thomas Menino of Boston congratulating the Bate Papo Magazine and TV show for strenghthening the friendships and cultural understanding between Brazilians and Americans. Also present were Fausto da Rocha (director of Brazilian Immigrant Center), Paulo Pinto (MAPS director), Celia Maciel (Brazilian Women’s Group), Frank Kavagnah, Joao Arruda (chairman of Brazilian Chamber of Commerce), Ester Sanches (Shaheen Brazilian Cultural Center), Airam da Silva (ICLA Da Silva Foundation) and Leonardo Schen (Books for Brazil).
It was announced during the event, the creation of the non profit organization Brazilian Total Assistance (former Office of Total Assistance), who’s president of the board, Monica Nascimento and executive director Carlos Da Silva met through the Bate Papo Network.
